Fashion designers are masters of the use of color, proportion, and textiles, which are all very important elements in automotive design. As such, many fashion houses have teamed with automotive manufacturers on special edition models. Luxury fashion and car industry are stricktly related together. Both of these areas have the same group of customers, and cooperation between fashion designer and luxury car brand can lead to increased demand for the products of both companies.

Levi's for Jeep. 1975-1986
Jeep CJ-7 Levi's Edition was in the line from 1975 to 1986. It included simulated stitching in Levi's fashion on the seats special jean style padding on the dash and jean material type top. Early versions had a Levi's sticker on the tub above the Jeep embossing.



Givenchy, Bill Blass, Cartier and Pucci for Lincoln Continental. 1977-1979

During 3 years, four fashion brands created their own versions of cult car Lincoln Continental Mark V. The Designer Editions each offered a custom set of exterior and interior colors and trim. On each edition, the vinyl roof was constructed of materials unique to that edition; in addition, Givenchy models were distinguished by their front-half vinyl roof configuration. All four versions were distinguished by trunklid badging as well as badging on the opera windows.
In 1979, the Bill Blass edition adopted a canvas version of the carriage roof for an imitation convertible look. The same year, Cartier editions adopted the color-keyed wheels of the Diamond Jubilee/Collector's Edition models

Gucci for Cadillac. 1979
Introduced on the 1978 Cadillac Seville, the Gucci package was supposed to add some Italian flair/bling to the V8-powered sedan. This model has been designed by Aldo Gucci, one of the sons of the founder of the Italian company.
The cost of the package pushed the price of the '78 Seville by Gucci to $19,900 while the 1979 model retailed for $22,900.



Paul Smith for Rover Mini. 1998
British fashion designer Paul Smith, has created two versions of this famous car in 1998.
Production: 300 for UK, 1,500 for rest of world.


Versace for Lamborghini. 2008
Lamborghini and Versace teamed up to make just 10 examples of this special edition Mercielago LP-640. While limiting the exterior color options to only black and white was nothing special, the leather that was quilted in Versace's greek fret pattern all throughout the interior was striking, unique, and beautiful. The price was about $1 million.




Hermes for Bugatti. 2009
Hermes brand has designed the interior of Bugatti Veyron model. This luxury, sport car costed about $1.5 million.




Lacoste for Citroën. 2010
Simple and laid-back but with plenty of sophistication, the Citroën Lacoste is another step towards the car of the future. It offers a modern, pared-back option that aims to end the 'always more' ethos that the automotive industry so often lives by. Sweeping away preconceived ideas on compact cars, the Citroën Lacoste shows there are alternative options. Its fresh, light-hearted approach turns car travel into an original adventure.

Victoria Beckham for Range Rover. 2012
Victoria Beckham has designed a special model of Range Rover called Evoque.
It contained hand-finished matt grey paint with contrasting gloss black finishes on the roof, side wheel arches and wheels, which are 20in forged alloys with rose-gold accents. Victoria spent 18 months working alongside designers to create the interior of the new vehicle, creating something very sleek and very stylish.
The price of the Range Rover Evoque was $105,500.



Gucci for Fiat. 2012-2014
There are high-quality leathers used throughout the cabin, as well as satin chrome accents. Outside, the signature Gucci green/red/green stripe runs along the beltline on hardtop models, and along the cloth top on the 500C. Gucci badging is found on the door frames, accented with chrome mirrors and door handles. And of course, there are unique 15-inch aluminum wheels with the interlocking "GG" design on the center caps.
Gucci Edition models were available for a limited time in North America, arrived to Fiat studios in June with a starting price of $23,750.







Jeremy Scott for Smart. 2013
Creative director of Moshino and Adidas, has created three limited edition models for the car brand, titled Smart Forjeremy. Made of transparent fiberglass, rocket-shaped wings serve as the car's brake lights; and the luxurious interior includes diamond-stitched upholstery and a leather-wrapped dashboard.
With prices ranging from $43,000 to $53,000, Jeremy Scott's Smart Car costs nearly twice as much as the standard Smart Fortwos that they are based on.
